About Me

Hello, I’m Roy, and for the past 18 months, I’ve been fully immersed in a captivating project: transforming a VW Crafter into a remarkable campervan. Even though I work full-time, I dedicate my spare moments to this passion project, continually refining and perfecting the van. The VW Crafter, a 2011 model, is my canvas for creating a completely off-grid campervan experience. Equipped with two 200 W solar panels and four 100 amp-hour leisure batteries, it empowers me to embrace the freedom of the open road.

Having gained previous experience, I’ve discovered that, with my setup, I can comfortably enjoy a week of winter travel, either before or after visiting a campsite. My only need for a campsite is to replenish water and dispose of black waste. It’s fascinating to note that many van owners affectionately name their vehicles, and mine is no exception. I’ve chosen to honor the memory of my adventurous brother, Brian, who sadly passed away in 2019 at the age of 58. Brian, much like my van, had a deep love for exploration, spending extensive time traveling the world, including 15 years in Uruguay and several years in Spain. In homage to his spirit of adventure, I’ve decided to name my campervan after him.

Through this web page, I aspire to document and share my thrilling journeys across the UK and Europe. Starting with Scotland, I’ll weave through the scenic landscapes of England and Wales, eventually venturing further into the captivating wonders of Europe. If you’d like to stay connected and join me on this remarkable journey, I encourage you to follow my adventures on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. I’ll be sharing captivating photos and videos, offering a window into the exciting world of campervan exploration.
